Our Dad, Vazir Karsan, was a kind, loving, and compassionate person. His focus was simple, making sure everyone was happy and always smiling.
For the past couple of months, our dad had been experiencing symptoms that were puzzling to doctors. He had a dedicated team of doctors that worked extensively to find the root cause of his symptoms. On April 22nd, he was diagnosed with a rare form of an autoimmune disease called anti-MDA5 dermatomyositis, which caused rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease. Despite immediate treatment efforts, the following day he was admitted to the ICU and on April 26th he peacefully passed with his family by his side.
To those who knew our Dad, he was a positive spirit, constantly smiling, caring, and always giving to his family and those in his community. To honor his life and legacy for this upcoming Father’s Day, we are asking for donations to The Myositis Association, which supports research to address this rare disease and works towards finding a cure.
