The Myositis Association (TMA) is committed to protecting privacy for everyone who contacts TMA, registers on its web site or becomes a TMA Member.

The Myositis Association does not release any information from donors or other individuals visiting this website to any other organization or company for any reason, at any time.

The Myositis Association will not trade, sell, or share donor’s personal information with any other organization.

The Myositis Association’s goal is to provide information about myositis to the public. If someone provides a postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, TMA may contact him or her for the following purpose:

• to notify individuals about TMA-sponsored events;

• to provide additional information about myositis or to introduce services;

• to invite individuals to join The Myositis Association in its mission of educating patients, physicians, the public and supporting research;

• to give a comprehensive response to individual questions, comments or proposals;

• to ask for financial support of The Myositis Association.

Member Programs

Members who voluntarily choose to participate in TMA’s “Keep In Touch” member support network authorize the release of their name, contact information and diagnosis to other members who have joined the TMA member support network. Members may withdraw from participation in the support network at any time upon written notice to the TMA office.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files that many web sites place on a visitor’s computer.

The Myositis Association web site uses a cookie only for controlling access to the password-protected sections for Registered Visitors and Members. When a Registered Visitor or Member logs into the Web site, a cookie is stored on their computer. This cookie allows Visitors and Members to go in and out of the password-protected sections without additional logins. All cookies are deleted instantly from our users’ computer when they log out. Our URL runs over SSL and all logins are encrypted.

If a user chooses the option to be automatically logged into the Web site when they return, a single cookie will remain on their computer in order to allow this to happen.

The Myositis Association does not use cookies to track any information about Visitors and Members other than the date of log in.

Individuals may choose to be removed from TMA’s contact list by either written notice to TMA or by phoning TMA at (800) 821-7356.
