The Myositis Association recognizes that the myositis patient’s best hope for a cure lies in research. The goal of The Myositis Association’s Research Funding Program is to develop a better understanding of myositis diseases, create better treatments, and, ultimately, find a cure for  myositis. TMA began funding research in 2002, and has continued to fund promising myositis research ever since.

While continuing the effort to advance research into all forms of myositis, the 2024 grant cycle targets projects specifically related to sporadic inclusion body myositis and juvenile myositis.

Please note: TMA’s 2024 funding opportunities are distinct from our pilot project and fellowship grants of recent years. TMA remains committed to support for promising junior investigators as well as innovative early-stage pilot projects, and we expect to return to this funding model in the coming years.
