The Myositis Association’s Annual Patient Conference will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from September 5th through September 8th, 2019.

Myositis conference participants can browse nearly 90 educational sessions facilitated by leading global experts, sample self-care practices, seek answers to their personal myositis questions, meet and spend quality time with myositis friends, and much more.

Who You Are Matters

This year, our myositis conference will focus on addressing the diversity of needs and challenges within the myositis community. Myositis is not an equal disease. IBM primarily affects older white men, for example. African Americans are disproportionately affected by other forms of the disease. Mortality rates from DM and PM are highest among women of color. Incidence ratios for DM and PM more than double during the childbearing years. Even as adults those who developed the disease as children still have juvenile myositis. Care partners too are affected differently based on the type of myositis their loved one experiences.

If you’ve never attended the TMA Annual Patient Conference, this is the year to give yourself this gift. Armed with more knowledge about your disease and how it relates specifically to you, coupled with practical advice for coping with the challenges, we hope the conference and the relationships you will develop inspire you to find new ways to move beyond the barriers this disease creates so you can bring more joy into your life. The price per ticket for the Annual Patient Conference is $320. Registration opens at 10 am and closes at noon ahead of the opening address at 12:30 pm. See you in Minneapolis!

Refund Policy:  Refund requests for TMA registration fees received in writing by July 13 will be issued a full refund; requests received after July 13 and by August 12 will be issued a 50% refund. No refunds after August 12.
