I struggled for several years not knowing what was going on – my first sign was when I was walking and I couldn’t do heel-toe. I have seen various doctors in different states in hopes of being helped. My friend told me “You need to fight!” and so I did. I went through a lot, even losing the ability to speak. It took me 2.5 years before I could go back out in public. Now I want to raise awareness and funds for myositis so other people might not have to go through what I did.
