Here’s some logistical information to assist you in planning your trip to Dallas.
Host City
Today, Dallas stands as a large and influential city, known for its booming economy, diverse cultural scene, and welcoming atmosphere. It is a testament to the spirit of progress and resilience that has defined Dallas throughout its remarkable history.
Dallas fun facts:
- The Dallas Arts District is the largest urban arts district in the nation, and voted #1 in America by USA Today. TMA’s hotel, the Sheraton Dallas, is perfectly positioned within the Arts District, which spreads over 20 square blocks, encompasses 68 acres, and includes many award-winning museums and performing arts venues.
- Dallas, home to the nation’s sixth-largest LGBTQ+ population and a 42% Hispanic population, is bursting with bars, restaurants and neighborhoods that celebrate diversity.
- The integrated circuit computer chip (which became the microchip) was invented in Dallas in 1958 by an engineer at Texas Instruments.
- The frozen margarita machine was invented in Dallas at Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch.

The Hotel
The conference will be held at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Hotel guestroom booking information is provided in your registration confirmation email. The TMA group rate is $189 plus tax. To secure the TMA group rate, you must book your lodging no later than August 26, 2025 or when the block fills, whichever happens first.
All conference attendees are strongly urged to book your hotel rooms exclusively through the official hotel booking link provided in your conference registration confirmation email. Recently, there has been an increase in third-party booking scams that appear to offer legitimate accommodations but ultimately defraud guests. Protect yourself and ensure a smooth, hassle-free experience by avoiding these fraudulent offers and booking directly through the link provided by TMA. Your security and peace of mind are TMA’s top priorities.
One known scammer, “lodging.support,” has been particularly active, stealing personal and financial information or failing to secure reservations, leaving guests without a room upon arrival. If you are contacted by a scammer, please let TMA know (myocon@myositis.org), and report the impersonators to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Sheraton Dallas Hotel is located in the Arts District and near the Deep Ellum neighborhood of downtown Dallas. Find the American Airlines Center, Fair Park, and the DART station across the street. Dallas Love Field Airport is just a 15-minute drive from our hotel.

Pet Policy
The hotel welcomes dogs and cats weighing less than 50 pounds. There is a onetime, non-refundable fee of $150 USD per stay.
Getting to the Hotel
The Hotel is centrally located in Downtown Dallas, but it does not have a hotel shuttle to and from airports. If you fly, you will need to rent a car or use a taxi, Uber or Lyft, or public transportation. Onsite parking is also available for a fee (TMA has negotiated a discounted rate of $30/day for self-serve parking and $50/day for valet parking).
Dallas Love Field is 9.6 miles from the property. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is 17.8 miles away.
You may also reach the hotel using public transportation (DART). The closest station is the Pearl/Arts District Station. It is handicap accessible. Learn more on their website at DART Rail System.
