join Us for a Special “Ask the Expert” in Honor of Necrotizing Myopathy Diagnosis Day
As part of Myositis Awareness Month, The Myositis Association (TMA) invites you to a special edition of Ask the Expert, dedicated to raising awareness about Necrotizing Myopathy—a rare and serious form of inflammatory myopathy that can be both complex and overwhelming for patients and caregivers.
We’re honored to welcome Dr. Prateek Gandiga, MD, FACP, Associate Professor and Senior Physician at Emory University, as our featured expert. Dr. Gandiga is a leading rheumatologist and head of the Emory Myositis Clinic, as well as an inter-disciplinary faculty member of the Emory Interstitial Lung Disease Center. With deep expertise in autoimmune myositis, Dr. Gandiga is actively involved in national and international research through the Myositis Clinical Trials Consortium (MCTC) and NIH’s IMACS group, working to improve diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for patients. His compassionate approach to care and dedication to medical education make him an outstanding resource for our community.
This session will be moderated by Deborah A. Armstrong, a former New Mexico State Representative and active TMA member. Deborah brings a deeply personal and advocacy-focused perspective to the conversation, drawing from both her legislative experience and her commitment to improving the lives of those affected by myositis.
This is a valuable opportunity to ask your questions, hear directly from a leading expert, and connect with others navigating the challenges of necrotizing myopathy. Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, or supporter, we invite you to be part of this important conversation.
Don’t miss this meaningful event as we shine a light on necrotizing myopathy, support our community, and empower one another through knowledge and connection.
