
Alicia Polak brings lived experience, global social-enterprise leadership, and financial expertise to The Myositis Association. Her connection to myositis is deeply personal: her mother lived with Inclusion Body Myositis, and Alicia was diagnosed in 2022. She began her career in investment banking before living and working abroad, where she co-founded Sub-Saharan Africa’s longest-running social enterprise. Alicia has lectured at the Wharton School on social entrepreneurship and inclusive business models. She is the Founder and Chief Enabled Officer of The disABLED Company™, focused on accessible living and advocacy, and is a longtime supporter of rescue animals.
