Craig Miller lives in Macomb, MI with his wife and daughter. Craig has been a physical therapist for 30 years and is the Regional Director of Therapy for Rivetus Rehabilitation overseeing homecare and outpatient services in Michigan and Ohio. He received his PT degree from Wayne State University and his Master of Public Health degree from Eastern Washington University.
Craig serves as the Chair of the Michigan Board of PT and is a Board member with the Federation of State Boards of PT. His wife, Sarah, is a social worker working for Hospice and their son, Dane (26) is an accountant in Grand Rapids, MI. Their daughter, Gwenyth (23) manages a Pilates studio near their home in Macomb.
Gwen was diagnosed with juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) at the age of 11 after years of being misdiagnosed and treated for other conditions. Thankfully, she is currently in remission with no active signs or symptoms of the disease. Craig feels they were fortunate to have received excellent care from the Dermatologist and Pediatric Rheumatology Department at Children’s Hospital of Michigan as it was their treatment of Gwen’s JDM that allowed her to be able to participate in athletics including being a 4-year high school varsity letter recipient in softball, a pretty great feat for someone battling muscle pain and advised to avoid the sun.
Craig is looking forward to using his health care background along with what his daughter and family experienced with JDM to serve the myositis community.
