    We are pleased to welcome Wael Jarjour, MD. Dr. Jarjour is associate professor and director of the division of rheumatology and immunology at Ohio State University. His research is focused on autoimmunity, and his clinical practice includes dermatomyositis, polymyositis, lupus, mixed connective tissue disease, and other systemic autoimmune disorders. Dr. Jarjour also serves on TMA's Medical Advisory Board and will speak on medications and myositis at the TMA Annual Patient Conference in San Diego in September. Dr. Nagaraju is a professor and founding chair of the department of pharmaceutical sciences at the school of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences at SUNY-Binghamton University in Upstate New York. A member of TMA's Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Nagaraju is an immunologist with expertise in translational research in autoimmune and genetic muscle diseases. His current work includes development of an alternative steroid compound that is highly effective at decreasing inflammation without the challenging side effects seen with prednisone. Dr. Charles-Schoeman, a member of TMA's Medical Advisory Board, is a rheumatologist and associate professor of medicine at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. She is an active investigator in multiple clinical trials involving novel therapies for myositis, and her research in this area includes the study of cardiovascular disease in myositis, including the use of cholesterol-lowering statin drugs and their association with myopathy. Dr. Weihl, a member of TMA's Medical Advisory Board, is an associate professor of neurology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where his research focuses on myositis and other neuromuscular diseases. In 2013, he was awarded a TMA research grant to study gene sequencing in sIBM. He's the author of many peer-reviewed publications on myositis and is a member of TMA's MAB research committee. He currently has a laboratory studying myositis at the National Institutes of Health. He's the author of many peer-reviewed publications on myositis. He's on TMA's Medical Advisory Board and is a long-time friend of TMA. He'll speak at TMA's Annual Patient Conference in September in New Orleans.
