Raised: $14,335.00 Goal: $10,000.00

On March 4th 2022 between 8pm-11pm I will be doing the 4x4x48 challenge in which I will run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.

The purpose for this is to help raise awareness and funding for research for those who are diagnosed and suffer from Polymyositis in which there is no one treatment and no known cure.

Polymyositis is a rare auto-immune disease that attacks the muscles causing pain and inflammation as well as progressive muscle weakness. Severe progression of muscle weakness can lead to death in some. Those with pulmonary or cardiac involvement have a much worse prognosis.

My beautiful wife Meggie, has been battling this disease and its complication as long as I have known her. Recently there has been a significant decline in her pulmonary function in and she was evaluated for a lung transplant in early early 2021.

Lung Transplants can have success but ultimately remain very challenging and recovery can take anywhere for 6 months to a 1 year assuming the organs take.

For the time being she is healthy and her prognosis is stable and we are very grateful for her medical teams at Hopkins and UPENN!!

I am grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in creating awareness through this fundraiser and thank you for your support!!!
